2024 Breakfast with the Regents Event

The HLNDV 2024 Annual Breakfast With The Regents was held on May 7 at Widener University in Chester, PA. Breakfast was followed by the Keynote and Regent Awards, Student Poster and then the ACHE In-Person Education credit program (formerly called ACHE Face-to-Face Education).

The event was hosted by our regents David Tam, MD, MBA, FACHE (Delaware regent) and Danielle Werner, FACHE (Southeastern PA and Southern NJ regent). We were very fortunate to have our Keynote delivered by Kevin B. Mahoney, CEO of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Kevin’s theme, Serving a Changing World really resonated with our members in their daily commitments to their employers, employees and patients.

During the event, our Regents presented Regent Awards to the following well-deserved recipients:
Delaware

Senior Level Healthcare Executive: Michael Eppenheimer, MHA, FACHE, ThreefoldYes, LLC
Southeastern PA/Southern NJ

Early Career Healthcare Executive: Teray Johnson, MBA, PhD, Lifepoint Health

Senior Level Healthcare Executive: Jenny Breunig, MHA, FACHE, Jefferson Health

The subsequent panel discussion topic was Navigating Key Legislative Issues Facing Healthcare Leaders and was moderated by Cassandra R. Henson, DR.P.A, MBA, Widener University. Panelists included Meghan Walls, PsyD, Nemours Children’s Health, Hugh Lavery, Jefferson Health, Travis Robey, American Hospital Association, Nishaminy Kasbekar, BS, PharmD, FASHP, University of Pennsylvania Health System. Attendees agreed that the insights shared by this panel resonated and were invaluable in their daily work.

In addition to the education and awards portion of the event, the Community Service Committee accepted toiletry donations to benefit The Access Center of Chester in partnership with Widener University student body. The Access Center is a community center for the people of Chester, Pennsylvania and provides a safe environment to gather for learning, recreation and celebration.
